1개념 정리
1The 비교급 ~, the 비교급 …: ~할수록 더 …하다 시험 단골
두 절 모두 the + 비교급 + 주어 + 동사로 쓴다. 앞이 변할수록 뒤도 따라 변한다는 '비례'의 뜻이다. 긴 형용사는 the more + 원급, good·bad·much는 the better·the worse·the more로 쓴다. 「As + 주어 + 동사 + 비교급, …」 문장을 이 구문으로 바꿀 수 있다.

2어순: the 비교급 (+ 명사) + 주어 + 동사 함정
more + 명사, 형용사 + 명사는 the 비교급 바로 뒤에 붙여 쓴다. 두 번째 절도 도치하지 않는다. 뜻이 분명하면 주어와 동사를 생략하기도 한다.

3비교급 and 비교급: 점점 더 ~한

주의 than any other runners ✗ (any other + 단수) / Nobody can't run as fast as Yuna. ✗ Nobody에 이미 부정의 뜻이 있다(이중 부정 ✗).
5배수 표현: 배수 + as 원급 as = 배수 + 비교급 than 시험 단골
half, twice, three times 같은 배수는 첫 번째 as 앞에 둔다. 셋 이상은 비교급 than으로도 쓰고, twice는 보통 as ~ as로 쓴다. 수·양을 비교하면 as many〔much〕 as이다.
The festival drew four times as many visitors as last year. = … four times more visitors than last year.

6비교급 강조와 최상급 형태 중2 복습
비교급 앞의 much, far, even, still, a lot은 '훨씬'이다(very ✗). 최상급 뒤 장소·집단은 in, 기간·복수는 of이다. one of the + 최상급 + 복수명사

최상급 단어 없이도 '가장'이 된다
the 비교급 ~, the 비교급 …은 '비례'를, No other ~, Nothing ~, than any other ~는 '가장 ~하다'를 나타낸다.
스스로 점검
- 「The 비교급 ~, the 비교급 …」을 the 두 번, 주어 + 동사 어순으로 쓸 수 있다.
- the more + 명사, the 비교급 + 형용사 + 명사를 붙여 쓰고, As 문장을 이 구문으로 바꿀 수 있다.
- 원급·비교급으로 최상급의 뜻을 나타내고, any other 뒤는 단수, all the other 뒤는 복수로 쓸 수 있다.
