1개념 정리
1부정대명사란? 먼저 one과 it
이 단원은 교과서에 적게 나오는 선택 단원이다. 부정대명사는 '정해지지 않은' 사람이나 물건을 가리키는 대명사이다. one은 앞에 나온 것과 같은 종류의 아무 하나(여럿이면 ones), it은 앞에 나온 바로 그것이다.
I need a pen. Can I borrow one? (아무 펜 하나)
I found my pen. It was in my coat pocket. (잃어버렸던 바로 그 펜)

주의 둘 중 남은 하나에 another ✗: One is thick, and another is thin. ✗
3셋이면 one ~ another ~ the other
세 번째가 아직 남아 있으므로 두 번째 하나는 '또 하나'인 another, 마지막 하나는 the other이다.
Ben has three kites. One looks like a fish, another looks like a dragon, and the other looks like a bee.
4나머지 전부는 the others 혼동 주의
수가 정해진 무리에서 하나를 빼고 나머지 모두는 the others이다. 여럿이므로 뒤에 복수동사가 온다.
Mia has five goldfish. One is orange, and the others are white. (= the other four)
5some ~ others: 정해지지 않은 사람들
사람들 일반처럼 수가 정해지지 않은 무리는 '어떤 사람들은 ~, 다른 사람들은 …'을 some ~ others로 쓴다. (나머지 전부가 아니므로 the 없이 쓴다. 자세한 구별은 중3 Unit 28)

6each / every + 단수명사 + 단수동사 함정
each(각각의), every(모든)는 뜻과 달리 단수명사, 단수동사와 함께 쓴다. each of + 복수명사도 동사는 단수이다.

another 또 하나(아직 남은 것이 있다): Three kites. One looks like a fish, another ...
the other 마지막 남은 하나: Two brushes. One is thick, and the other is thin.

빈칸 앞의 수부터 찾기
부정대명사 문제는 앞 문장의 two, three, five 같은 수에 표시하고 시작한다. 남은 것이 하나면 the other, 여럿 전부면 the others, 아직 더 남았으면 another이다.
스스로 점검
- 같은 종류의 아무 하나는 one(ones), 앞에 나온 바로 그것은 it으로 쓸 수 있다.
- 둘일 때 one ~ the other를 쓸 수 있다.
- 셋일 때 one ~ another ~ the other를 쓸 수 있다.
- 정해진 무리의 나머지 전부를 the others로 쓰고 복수동사를 붙일 수 있다.
- 사람들 일반을 some ~ others로 나타낼 수 있다.
- each·every 뒤에 단수명사와 단수동사를 쓴다는 것을 안다.
