1개념 정리

1the + 최상급 + in / of

(중1 Unit 24 복습) 최상급은 the + -est / most + 긴 단어로 '가장 ~한'이다. 비교 범위가 장소·집단이면 in(in our town, in the club), 복수의 구성원·기간이면 of(of the five, of all the months)를 쓴다.

Ms. Kang's lab is the quietest room in our school. 강 선생님의 실험실은 우리 학교에서 가장 조용한 방이다.
Thursday was the windiest of the five days. 목요일이 닷새 중 가장 바람이 많이 불었다.

주의 ~~the tallest of my class~~ ✗ → in my class ○ / ~~the most busiest~~ ✗ → the busiest ○

2one of the + 최상급 + 복수명사: 가장 ~한 … 중 하나 시험 단골

'여럿 중 하나'이므로 명사는 복수이다. 이 말이 주어이면 진짜 주어는 one이므로 단수 동사를 쓴다.

Ms. Han is one of the strictest coaches in our city. 한 코치님은 우리 시에서 가장 엄격한 코치 중 한 명이다.
One of the oldest trees in our park stands by the pond. 우리 공원에서 가장 오래된 나무 중 한 그루는 연못 옆에 서 있다.

주의 one of the best ~~player~~ ✗ → players ○ / One of the oldest trees ~~stand~~ ✗ → stands ○

3the + 최상급 + 명사 + (that) 주어 + have ever p.p. 시험 단골

'지금까지 ~해 본 것 중 가장 …한'은 경험의 현재완료로 쓴다. that은 생략할 수 있고, 주어가 3인칭 단수이면 has를 쓴다.

It's the strangest bug (that) Jun has ever found. 그것은 준이 지금까지 찾은 벌레 중 가장 이상한 벌레이다.

주의 the biggest fish I ~~ever catch~~ ✗ → I have ever caught ○ (과거분사 확인)

5불규칙 최상급과 최상급 강조

little → least, many/much → most, bad/badly → worst, good/well → best. 긴 단어는 the most + 원급(the most careful)이다. by far를 앞에 두면 '단연 가장 ~한'이다(소개).

Of all Jun's pets, Tori sleeps the most. 준의 반려동물 중 Tori가 가장 많이 잔다.
Mr. Oh's dumplings were by far the best at the party. 오 선생님의 만두가 파티에서 단연 최고였다.

any other + 단수, all the other + 복수

than any other player (다른 어떤 선수보다) / than all the other players (다른 모든 선수들보다)
No other player is … (어떤 다른 선수도 ~ 않다): 뒤에는 비교급 than이나 as 원급 as만 온다.
